I’m talking about rest. You need to ensure you are getting rest and time to recharge. You owe it to your clients.
Understandably, right now, with what’s happening in the markets, your clients are possibly coming to you looking for answers and needing to have some hand-holding done, and that’s great, and that’s part of your role. However, you need to ensure that you are giving to them from a rested—mentally and physically, and spiritually rested—approach. And that means you’ve got to look after yourself first. It’s one of those instances where it’s, “Put on your own oxygen mask first.”
I remember my weight training coach telling me, “You have half a chance with a rested horse. You’ve got no chance with a dead horse.” There’re no guarantees about how great business is going to grow for you. But I can promise you if you are fatigued, especially going through what we’re in right now, and you stay in that state of mind—in that state of being—you’re not going be any help to your clients, and worse, your business is going to deteriorate, and those who you love most, those closest to you, are going to feel the negative impacts of your just being continually fatigued. You need a break. It’s summertime. Now is the time to do that.
So to do this most effectively,
You need to be doing the same—rest, reflect, recharge, and come back even more effectively for clients who are depending on you to be at your best.
