Looking back to reflect on what’s worked for you is super important. I see myriad analogies using athletes, about how they think and plan and what have you, but few of them highlight the fact that they spend time reflecting and thinking deeply before they even think about moving forward. And often when they do move forward, it’s often to repeat what they’ve already done that’s got them there to begin with.
That’s overlooked in our social media-saturated world. We’re forever looking at new things. We’re forever looking at the bright, shiny object or the new idea. We have that saying that nothing is constant apart from change itself, and yet, for top-class athletes, they recognize the value of reflecting, thinking, and then, more often than not, repeating exactly what they’ve been doing. It’s super important you’ve got that conviction for your processes, but you do want to reflect back, consider anything that you might want to tweak or modify, and then write it down. Record it so you can continually reflect on it as you move through these next 90 days of this next quarter.
