Last week I encouraged you to work with people who are broke. Some of you wanted to know, “Won’t that make me broke, too?”

  1. Determine a firm limit on the number of clients you will help pro bono.

  2. Set firm boundaries and clarify expectations for your pro bono clients. If they don’t operate within bounds, don’t keep working for them.

  3. Only bring on another pro bono client when you have capacity within your set number and they are an ideal candidate for your help.
