Business-building ideas and advice to move you forward faster.
It takes a lot of patience to be an overnight success because, in reality, any true success takes a lot longer.
It takes a lot of patience to be an overnight success.
Recently I spoke to think2perform’s annual Evolution of Financial Advice event, and it was a great two days. Now if you were there for the start of the event, and you saw the room full with 200 people, you’d think, “Wow, this is a fantastic event,” without really understanding what went on behind it. Doug Lennick with Kris and Ryan and their staff have been doing this event for three years now. When they first started they had 40 people. The second year they did it, it grew to 90 people, and this year it’s doubled that to now 200 people.
My point is if you just saw what it looked like in the final evening, you’d be blown away with the class and atmosphere of this particular event. You may think it just came easy. It’s been three years in the making.
There I met Michael Kitces, who has now 20,000 people following him on his blog and with his financial advice. If you just saw those numbers you’d be blown away. But, you’ve got to remember, Michael’s been doing this for over 15 years now, and those numbers have built up steadily over time as he’s been delivering great service and great advice.
My point is achieving greatness takes time. You need to plan for that greatness for your business, but understand it takes time.
